Hey ya’ll. My name is Ashley and I’m a Doodlebug-aholic.
I’m guessing that instead of responding with the customary “Hi Ashley” you probably said “What the heck is a Doodlebug-aholic?”
Glad you asked!
It’s original and adorable artwork featuring your child’s hand and/or footprint.
I first became familiar with Doodlebugs two years ago when I was invited to a Doodlebugs party hosted by my good friend Shena.
It worked like this- the owner of Doodlebugs, a funky and talented artist named Carla Lucas, painted Burtch’s little hand and tiny foot then pressed it onto a canvas and painted a precious cowboy and horse scene using his prints.
Last year sweet Shena hosted another party and I had this one made for baby Lawson.
And I had this fru-fru one made for me. I know my kids are boys but I’m a girl, at least I was many years ago, and this one is for me.
I also had two paintings made for the grandparents’ Christmas presents.
Unfortunately, Carla can’t travel the globe to do parties- well maybe she would for the right price and a free vacation- anyway she now has a new line called Doodles To Go and you can order a kit online so you can make your own original Doodlebugs artwork at home!
Now that the boys are a little older they think it’s fun to paint their hands and feet.
Last weekend Shena hosted another party I got these 5×7 Christmas paintings. I’m going to poke a hole in the top, tie ribbons on them and hang them on the tree!
I also purchased a fishing painting but I’m waiting on Carla to put the final touches on it.
I’m also waiting on the men in white coats to put me in a straight jacket and haul me off to Doodlebug rehab. Please don’t tell them where I live.
*This is not a paid advertisement. Although all 3 of you readers are totally awesome no one would pay me money to advertise to only three (ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!) people. I just love Doodlebugs and I thought you might too!
